T
he Sierra Norte de Lima-Huánuco Economic Corridor is located on the central west coast of Peru, between the valleys of the Chillón, Rímac, and Lurín rivers. The region limits to the north with Ancash, San Martín and La Libertad; to the south with Ica, Huancavelica and Pasco; to the east with Junín, Pasco and Ucayali; and to the west with the Pacific Ocean and Ancash. Its metropolitan area is located on the flattest zone of the Peruvian coast. Altitude is between 0 and 1,560 m.a.s.l. in Lima, and between 167 and 3,839 m.a.s.l. in Huánuco.
The corridor has two types of weather. Lima’s weather is very mild despite being located in the tropic and in the middle of a desert. In winter the temperature is between 12ºC and 20ºC, with low clouds and considerable humidity, not very different from the temperature in summer (19ºC - 29ºC). There are 90 sunny and clear days during the year. In the case of Huánuco, the weather depends on the altitude and the area. In the city of Huánuco, the weather is mild and dry, with an average temperature of 24ºC. Ceja de Selva cities are cloudy, with temperatures between 12ºC and 33ºC.
There are three offices in the regions of Lima and Huánuco, located in Huacho, Oyón and Ambo. All offices can be accessed by highway. The distances are as follows: Lima - Huacho (148 km), Lima - Oyón (291 km), and Lima - Ambo (386 km).
