While initially the Alternative Development zones were within the PRA’s intervention scope, and a portfolio of business was already in place, since 2003 PRA offices were implemented in each zone (Aguaytía, Tocache and the Apurímac-Ene Valley) with specific targets regarding sales and job creation. The PRA worked five years in coordination with the Alternative Development Project.

In this phase, the PRA Project will not operate in the Alternative Development zones (with the exception of the VRAE).
